Containing Arguments
Imagine a person A.
A has an idea B about topic C.
A arrived at B because of the arugments Y, and Z.
Y and Z are supported by evidences O, P, and Q.
Now Imagine a person D.
D has the same idea B about topic C.
D arrived at B because of the arguments X and Y.
D thinks that A’s argument Z is false because evidence Q is false.
Instead D believes evidence R is true.
X is supported by R.
Finally imagine A and D conversing about topic C.
A shares why they believe B.
D objects to argument Z because of evidence Q.
D explains that evidence R is true.
D claims therefore X is true.
A rebukes D for not believing B.
D didn’t object to A’s conclusion.
D didn’t object to how A’s method of thinking.
D only objected to a piece of evidence used by A.
A doesn’t know how to contain arguments.
Don't be A.
